The battle of the taquerias

So Elliot and I love Mexican food. I lived in Mexico for a semester and literally ate an avocado every day - boy I was in heaven. Recently we tried two new restaurants.  The first was Perla Taqueria on Piedmont near Cheshire - pretty darn close to about 30 strip clubs.  Perla is where Mrs. Winners chicken and biscuits used to be - being so close to the strip clubs, and being in a former Mrs. Winners was enough to make us want to eat there (and the fact there is a scoutmob!).  Elliot ordered some fun tacos (brisket, fried chicken, and shrimp I think), I got a vegetarian taco (with yummy fried jalapenos) and a side of black beans and a basket of chips to share.  Both of us enjoyed our food, quick service, and cheap prices (especially with the scoutmob!), Elliot also was a big fan of the salsa bar and getting refills.

Days later we decided to try Bad Dog Taqueria in Emory Village, where Green Sprouts used to be.  It was also delicious and had cute pictures of naughty dogs.  Elliot got some tacos (I forget - but 1 was fried chicken), and I got an entree salad.  We also got a side of chips and salsa - now these were awesome - there were several types of chips: yucca, plantain, and corn and the salsa's were fab. The waitstaff was friendly!  They are getting their liquor license in the next few weeks, but until then it is BYO adult drinks.

So in conclusion - both were fabulous! I would go back to both restaurants - just go to which ever is closest to you!
